Add / edit drivers

Introduction

InhouseDelivery supports three roles:

  • Administrators

    • Administrators have access to all features within the InhouseDelivery, and are created upon account creation. If you require additional account administrators, please contact our support team.

  • Managers

    • Managers have access to all features within the InhouseDelivery, including managing deliveries. The only features they cannot access are:

      • Billing (adding/editing billing details, viewing invoices)

      • Adding new locations

      • Editing location address / phone numbers

  • Drivers

    • Drivers are restaurant employees who will be performing deliveries. They do not have access to the desktop application; only to the mobile app for the purpose of accepting and performing deliveries.

Both administrators and managers may also be given the driver role, if they are to perform deliveries.

Add driver

Drivers is located on the top menu.

To add a new driver, click Add Driver in the top righthand corner.

Note that drivers must be added to each location separately. If you have multiple locations, ensure you have selected the applicable location in the lefthand menu.

Add the driver's first and last name, and then enter their phone number. (All fields are mandatory)

Upon creation, the driver will receive a text message inviting them to download the mobile app and activate their account.

Once the driver has activated their account and has gone online, they will become available to deliver orders.

View drivers

All drivers will appear on the main Drivers page, listed in alphabetical order.

Re-invite drivers

Any drivers which have not yet accepted the invite and activated their account will display with an Invited status.

You may resend the SMS invite to them by clicking the ellipsis on the far righthand side, and then selecting Resend invite.

Remove drivers

To remove a driver, select the Remove driver option under the ellipsis.

You will be promoted to confirm your choice.

Note that if the user drives for multiple locations, they will only be removed as a driver from the selected location. To remove them from all locations, you will need to go into each location individually and remove the driver.

Once the driver is removed, they will no longer appear on the drivers list view. They will no longer be able to accept and perform deliveries for the specified location.
