You may wish to create a manual delivery request when a customer calls your restaurant and places a large catering order for delivery, as an example.

To manually create a delivery request, click on the + button on the Orders screen.

Complete all of the information on the Create Order form.

  • Ready ASAP

This attribute indicates the time the food will be ready to be picked up by the delivery driver. By default, it is set to 'Now' (next 5 minutes). To change the time and/or date, toggle the switch 'off'. Individual Date and Time attributes will then appear. Simply tap the date/time field to bring up selectors.

  • Order

The order ID for this delivery.

  • Pick up

For companies with more than one location, a Pick up field will be displayed. Tap on it to select the location where the order is to be picked up from.

  • Phone

The customer's phone number. Once completed, a pop up will appear showing the previous deliveries completed for this phone number (if any). Tap on the correct value (if applicable) to automatically populate the Name and Address fields, else continue to manually enter these attributes.

  • Name

    The customer's name.

  • Address

The customer's address. As you type, a list of matching addresses will appear. Tap the correct address to select it.

  • Order total

The total amount of the order.

  • Tip

The tip amount to be passed onto the driver, if any.

Beneath the Tip field is a header for More options. Tap the arrow to expand this section, which includes:

  • ID required

Toggle ON if ID is required upon delivery (i.e. for deliveries containing alcohol or tobacco)

  • Signature required

Toggle ON if ID is required upon delivery

  • Contactless delivery

Toggle ON if contactless delivery has been requested

  • Cash on delivery

Toggle ON if the customer is to pay for the order upon delivery

  • Note

Any notes to be passed onto the driver of this specific order e.g. Please do not knock the door as baby is sleeping.

When all of the mandatory fields have been completed, you will be able to select the Next button. A second screen will be displayed where you will select who to assign the order to for delivery.

This screen will appear even if the location has auto-dispatch mode set up.

Available Drivers

  • Will be displayed if self-delivery is enabled. All drivers who are currently online will be displayed. The number of orders they are currently assigned is also shown, to guide the manager on which driver may be best suited to take the delivery.

Please note: When an order is scheduled for delivery more than 40 minutes from the current time you will be unable to select an individual driver to assign the order to.

Third Party

  • Will be displayed if third-party delivery is enabled. All available third-party providers will be displayed. Note that individual drivers from a third-party cannot be selected.

Click on the Dispatch order button to create and dispatch the order. The order will then appear on the Deliveries screen, where you can track its progress.

Driver assignment

When an order is manually dispatched to an internal driver, the delivery is immediately assigned to the driver. This is different to when orders are dispatched via auto-dispatch, when drivers are able to choose whether to accept or reject a delivery offer. Drivers will be informed of the delivery assignment via a notification, and can see details of the order within the mobile app.

Once an order is manually assigned it proceeds through the same workflow as any other delivery.
